Beamish Open Air Museum


Beamish Open Air Museum is a unique museum that displays the artifacts as well as relates the history of North East England in the early 1800s and 1900s by means of costumed individuals who can answer questions by visitors. The museum complex spreads over an expanse of 300 acres.

It employs a novel approach towards educating individuals of all age groups about the history of North East England by live reconstruction of the lives in those times. Even special events are organised during summer vacations. The museum has also been honoured with awards such as British Museum of the Year as well as European Museum of the Year.
