Blenheim Palace

Royal Manor of Woodstock was given by the Queen Anne to John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough who was military genius and has won major wars inclusive of one near Blenheim. The palace structure was designed by an architect named John Vanburgh.

The former Prime Minister of the UK was born in Blenheim Palace, and was buried herein as well. Blenheim Parlance was constructed to celebrate the victory over the French in the course of Wars of Spanish Successions. The complex is open to public, and can be visited on payment of admission fees.

It has now become a World Heritage Site.
