Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo is one of the premier zoos in the UK, which accommodates about 7000 animals of 400 species. The Zoo was founded by George Mottershead with the intention to have a zoo without the animals put behind the bars or caged. In the year 1934, his endeavour became the North of England Zoological Society.

The last admissions as well as opening timings are subject to variation in accordance to the seasons. Usually the Chester Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and remains closed on Christmas as well as Boxing Day. The popular children attraction, Chester zoo is spread over an expanse of 110 acres.
