National Railway Museum

The National Railway Museum is the largest rail museum in the world accrediting its vast collection of artefacts. Its collection ranges from Rocket up to Eurostar that gives a historical background of development in the field. Provision of rides on miniature railway as well as full-size trains has also been made in the museum.

This museum also houses an interesting photographic collection that entails the amazing history of railway. It also has a children's play area for young visitors. In fact, the museum has won the York Tourism Awards for Excellence's 'Best Attraction' category for the year 2008. The museum remains open to public on all days except 24-26 December from 10 a.m. up to 6 p.m.
