Royal Academy of Arts


Royal Academy of Arts is the oldest institution that caters to fine arts in Britain. It was founded by George III in the year 1768, which was given by artist to encourage art and design. Although numerous individuals can be an associate or friend of the Royal Academy but its full-membership is limited to 80 Academicians who are active individuals in the field of painting, architecture, sculpture as well as print-making.

It also houses a fine permanent collection besides the oldest fine art library in the Britain. Several temporary exhibitions are also at the Royal Academy of Arts. One of its most acclaimed exhibitions has been 'Monet in the 20th century'.
